Courthouse Bomb Threat
On 09/07/2017 at approximately 0915 hours Mayes County Sheriffs Office received a phone call from an office inside the Courthouse, that they had just received a Bomb Threat.
Mayes County Sheriffs Deputies and Courthouse Security immediately began "Bomb Threat Protocol" by Evacuating the Mayes County Courthouse, which was evacuated by 0925 hours.
Mayes County Sheriffs Office then requested Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) Bomb Squad conduct a “sweep" of the building by utilizing a K-9, which resulted in no "suspicious" items or devices located.
At approximately 1030 hours Mayes County Sheriff's Office then gave a "all clear" notification to Staff.
Mayes County Sheriff's Deputies and Courthouse Security then directed remaining individuals outside the Courthouse that Business could resume as normal.
Mayes County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the OHP Bomb Squad, Mayes County Emergency Management, Local Fire Departments, and Mesta Ambulance Service until Business resumed.
